Domaine Rieflé - Alsace L'etoffe 2016 Ad Quadratum
Score : 88 points
Pale red. Perfumed aromas of ripe red cherry and spices. Then fresh and round, offering simple flavors of cherry pie and Asian herbs. Finishes medium-long and clean. Rieflé told me they used the stalks and 70% whole clusters to make this wine, and so the tannins are bigger, but the wine’s color is lighter. Made from grapes grown in Pfaffenheim and Westhalten on essentially marly-clay soils. Finishes long, fresh and classically dry (12.5% alcohol, 0.2 g/L residual sugar and 5.3 g/L total acidity).
