Domaine Rieflé - Alsace L'aplomb 2017 Ad Quadratum
Score : 91 points
Pale golden-tinged straw-yellow. Hints of sweet spices, honey, ripe baked apples and botanical herbs, plus a hint of lime. Ripe and juicy, but showing good freshness to the creamy apple, pear and spicy flavors. Finishes round and off-dry, with a hint of finishing sweetness on the long back end. Try this with chicken, pork or turkey dishes, besides the more obvious fish dishes you can think of. The back label shows a 1 on the 1-to-4 sweetness scale (where 1 is driest and 4 is sweetest) but I think a 1.5, if such a score existed, would be more accurate. Lovely wine. A blend of 50% Pinot Blanc and 50% Pinot Gris, entirely barrel-fermented.
